Matthew Kuhn (“Matt”) is a Senior Vice President/Partner with EP Wealth Advisors. His own family’s experiences originally fueled his passion to provide advice with integrity and to educate clients – especially business owners, women in transition and retirees – so they can make informed decisions about their finances. Matthew was in the Air Force and studying for his engineering master’s degree when his father passed away at the much-too-young age of 54. When his mother entrusted the life insurance proceeds and what little money they had to a family friend in the investment field, the results ended up benefitting the friend more than his mother. This life-changing experience persuaded Matthew to halt his engineering studies and instead turned to business, where he earned an MBA. Prior to joining EP Wealth, Matthew served as a portfolio manager and personal wealth advisor with Harris Financial Advisors, Inc. for 28 years, after leaving the Air Force as a captain following more than eight years of service. He earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Parks College – St. Louis University, and his MBA at Wright State University. Matthew’s wife is a hospital executive, his son now serves as an Air Force Lieutenant, and his daughter studies law at Harvard/Cambridge. Matthew is a Rotarian, and enjoys reading in his spare time.
