Jon Bacon is a Vice President with EP Wealth Advisors. Emphasizing that all client situations are unique, he begins by listening to what is most important to each client, then works to organize and prioritize all the moving pieces into a comprehensive and actionable financial plan. Jon focuses on high earners and business executives looking to lay the proper foundation for financial independence and make the transition into retirement. He also assists Millennials experiencing sudden wealth through inheritance, stock options, and settlements. Jon’s interest in the stock market began as a child when he told his dad he was bored one day. His dad’s response was to toss over a Wall Street Journal Markets section and challenge him to be the first kid at school to make a million dollars. Although he didn’t become a millionaire that summer, the seed was planted for a lifelong fascination with the market and its incredible ability to generate wealth and prosperity. After the Global Financial Crises, Jon recognized how the traditional broker model of high commissions and complex products was waning in favor of a new model that focused on the well-being of the client and giving sound, fiduciary advice. He would embrace this approach in his role as a personal wealth advisor at Harris Financial Advisors, Inc. before joining EP Wealth. Jon holds a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and is a board member of the Financial Planning Association of Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Political Science. A self-described “non-fiction book nerd,” Jon enjoys exploring California with his wife, skiing in the winter and relaxing at the beach in summer with a chair and a book
