William (Bill) Morrissey has almost four decades of experience in financial planning and investment management. He joined EP Wealth Advisors after nearly 40 years as President of Sound Financial Planning, Inc., which he founded and became part of the EP Wealth family in 2021. Earlier in his career, Bill was in residential and commercial Seattle real estate. He owned and managed a substantial real estate investment portfolio, was President of two real estate development companies, and managing partner of the Islander Lopez—a major resort in the San Juan Islands. Bill is dedicated to the proposition “Harmonize your Money with your Life.” Bill enjoys assisting clients to bring meaning and purpose to their financial lives. He believes in the mindset “using your money to make a life” to be both liberating and compelling. Bill is a past National Board member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), past President of the Puget Sound chapter of the FPA, past President of the Northwest Washington Estate Planning Council, and member of the CFP Board. He is also a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and is a NAPFA Registered Financial Advisor. Bill is a founding member of the Nazrudin Project—a group of financial planners and therapists who meet to discuss emotional and psychological issues related to money. He has facilitated pro bono financial literacy workshops for modest income individuals and helped develop a pro bono financial planning program for cancer patients. He is President of the United Way of San Juan County, past President of the Friday Harbor Kiwanis club, and lector for St. Francis Catholic Church. A resident of the Pacific Northwest his entire life, Bill lives on the water and enjoys kayaking and paddleboarding “outside his front door.” He has been a pilot for many years and commutes/flies between the two offices. Passionate about his daily meditation and gratitude practice, he stays active with strength training, yoga, cycling, hiking, and swimming. He enjoys travel and snorkeling in the Caribbean. Bill enjoys spending personal time with his family, which includes his two grown sons and his precious granddaughter.
