O’Zell Golden had close to a decade of financial services experience when he joined EP Wealth Advisors in 2023 as a Senior Financial Planner. O’Zell possesses a background in various areas within the financial services arena. He worked as a Corporate Trust Administrator at Bank of New York Mellon in 2013 managing cash on behalf of states, cities, and other municipalities for its general obligation and revenue bonds. He also worked as a Trading Desk Representative in the home office of UnionBanc Investment Services (UBIS), placing trades for equities, alternative investments, U.S. Treasuries, and other fixed-income instruments. He realized that he had a passion to help people reach their financial goals, so he transitioned into personal finance and has held positions as an Investment Advisor, Financial Advisor, and an Associate Wealth Management Advisor at companies such as UBIS, Edward Jones, and Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company, respectively. In these roles, O’Zell has assisted and advised many clients from all walks of life (from corporate executives to single mothers) by creating and implementing personalized financial strategies and managing risk in their portfolios for retirement, college funding, asset and income protection, managing and reducing capital gains tax and income tax, generational wealth transfers, and other goals that matter to clients. He has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from California State University, Los Angeles, FINRA Series 7 & 66 licenses, CA Life & Health Insurance license, and is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. In his spare time, he likes to go to the movies with his wife, Patty, read about the markets and investing, play board games, and watch the LA Lakers.
