Angie Flores has been building a diverse portfolio of human resources experience for more than two decades. A Hollywood-homegrown California native of Los Angeles, she joined EP Wealth Advisors in 2022. True to Hollywood form, earlier in her career Angie worked as a Casting Assistant identifying talent for movies and various media. With a degree in Child Psychology, Angie’s career started with a focus on education. She held the position of Counselor working with mentally and physically challenged children and adults, mainstreaming groups into the community for ARC/Easter Seals.
While working towards a master’s degree in Organizational Conflict and Mediation, Angie entered the corporate scene at Source Services Inc. (now known as Kforce.com) as a Recruiting Manager. There she had the task of starting up the Accountant Source Temps division, placing individuals of various levels in contract and full-time accounting positions. After more than five years of assisting in their nationwide growth, and obtaining a certification as an HR/Placement Specialist, Angie moved on to developing two startup staffing services in the South Bay as a Branch Manager. With Connect Television as one of her large accounts, she was invited to join their team as the HR Recruiting and Retention Manager for the Home Services division of DIRECTV. While there she worked with the L.A. Mayor’s office developing training programs for L.A.’s youth and displaced workers. Angie developed relationships with America’s Second Harvest, Toys for Tots, and various city groups, forging the way for the company’s recognition in the community. After nearly a decade with the company as employee #28 and having a hand in watching the employee roster grow to the thousands, the recession changed the direction of the corporation and Angie’s position, along with over a quarter of the company, was eliminated. Angie then continued her career as the Safety Coordinator/HR Manager for an electrical company in the South Bay for five years.
While tending to her career and family, Angie followed her dream of writing children's picture books and becoming a published author. Cub's Wish, Angie's first solo book, debuted as a #1 New Release and best seller on Amazon at #2767 of all 11 million+ books, holds 5-star reviews with Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and more, and became a multiple award winner. Angie was also awarded "Best Female Author" for Children's Literature through "the Authors Show" and awarded a spot in their book, Authors You Should Be Reading. Featured in several podcasts, radio, cable TV, print magazines and YouTube segments, as well as Disney/ABC7's “Magic of Story Telling,” Angie has lectured on the importance of parental inclusion and reading to your children. Angie’s book has been honored as an International Best Seller with translation in 7 languages including Braille. Her dream was realized when her self-published book made it to the shelves of several Barnes and Noble bookstores across the country and in independent bookstores in Europe.
Angie sits on the board of the Children's Book Writers of Los Angeles (CBW-LA) where she assists writers on their path to publication. Her writing has been showcased in the CBWLA Story Sprouts anthologies and the award-winning middle-grade collaborative novel Kayla Wayman, Junior Time Traveler, Lost in the Stream. She also is on the board of Reading Is Fundamental of Southern California (RIFSoCal), taking part in getting new books into the hands of children in underserved schools. Amidst her literary endeavors, Angie never left the corporate scene. Concurrent with her book’s success, she was invited to join Fisker Automotive as the HR and Safety Manager, where while managing the HR department she had her hand in the development of the battery lab, risk assessment, and compliance. With investor funds swaying and Covid on the rise, Angie turned to consulting and tending to her family. Today Angie is a proud member of the EP Wealth Advisors team as the Onboarding Specialist, determined to assist in the growth and development of the firm and its Human Resources department.
On a personal note, Angie met and married her college sweetheart while attending Cal State Dominguez Hills. She loves spending free time with her family, which includes their three sons, whom she adores.
