Wealth Advisor – Irvine, CA

EP Wealth Advisors, a wealth management firm is seeking a Wealth Advisor for our location in Orange County. Wealth Advisor will involve a variety of client-facing activities in providing comprehensive service to existing clients as well as assisting in developing new business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in a collaborative environment, provide excellent service to a defined group of clients and support all business development and client retention activities.
  • Liaise with internal team members including portfolio management, operations and financial planning for client meeting preparation and to monitor workflow associated with servicing clients
  • Assist in preparing proposals and other marketing materials for business development meetings
  • Follow-up on business development leads as required
  • Lead delivery of service including in-person review meetings for assigned group of clients
  • Document client interactions and client related workflows in contact management system
  • Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve the firm’s business development and client retention objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Over three years of relationship management experience in wealth management; Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business related major
  • Experience in sales and working with clients in a wealth management setting
  • Certified Financial Planner, or working towards CFP certification preferred
  • Excellent listener with the ability to provide problem-solving solutions to clients wealth management needs

Estate Planner – Open Location

EP Wealth Advisors, a wealth management firm is seeking an attorney with 6 – 10 years experience in estate planning and trust administration for high net worth clients.  This position will involve a variety of client-facing activities providing comprehensive service to existing clients. Estate Planner will be responsible for proactively engaging in firm-wide initiatives developing Estate Planning services and building firm relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in a collaborative environment, provide excellent service to a defined group of clients and support all business development and client retention activities
  • Provide advisory services to clients on estate tax planning, wealth and business succession planning, charitable planning, trust tax planning and assist in the preparation of estate documents
  • Meet with clients to draft appropriate documents including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives, advise on estate, gift, GST, charitable, business succession, and income tax matters
  • Collaborate with advisor teams to insure clients objectives are being meet as pertains to the estate planning or charitable needs
  • Review clients existing estate plans to determine if they are achieving their goals
  • Prepare basic estate documents including Generation-skipping and dynasty trust; Irrevocable insurance trusts for clients in primarily California but could also include additional states as strategically determined necessary
  • Identify strategic partners to assist in the preparation advanced estate planning and charitable planning documents (ie. Charitable foundations and trusts; Marital agreements; Business continuation planning; Guardianships/conservatorships; Medicaid/Medicare trust planning)
  • Build and develop estate planning services department
  • Participates in firms marketing initiatives, including client and prospective client seminars, writing articles and blogs, and other activities
  • Coordinate with the financial planning department to help illustrate estate planning concepts in our financial planning software as part of the financial plan delivery
  • Provide advice and assistance with all aspects of trust administration
  • Coordination with the financial planning department on estate planning recommendations that require outside coordination with items such as the following, but not limited to: Life insurance illustrations, Business valuations, Donor advised funds, Buy-sell arrangements and funding, Business entity structure set up, Pre and post-nuptial agreements, and Special needs trusts
  • Follow-up on business development leads as required
  • Document client interactions and client related workflows in client relationship management system
  • Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve the firm’s business development and client retention objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Over six years of experience counseling high net worth clients on estate planning. relationship management experience in wealth management;
  • Advanced degree required to meet certification compliant to State Bar of California and certified by an organization accredited by the State Bar
  • Experience in working with ultra-high net worth individuals preferred and experience working with clients in a wealth management setting
  • Proficient knowledge in estate planning tools and working knowledge of state property tax law
  • Excellent listener with the ability to provide problem-solving solutions to client’s wealth management needs
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure

Financial Planning

Financial Planning Associate – Open Location

 Position reports to the Director of Financial Planning and is responsible for providing support to our financial planning department.  The role will include a combination of administrative duties as well as analytical skills.

  • Work closely with the financial planning director to support the development of personal and business financial plans.
  • Format and proofread client action plans
  • Assist the department in preparing and updating presentations and corresponding material
  • Assist clients with their personal financial sites
  • Create, review and enter data into spreadsheets to analyze specific financial planning and/or business planning issues
  • Utilize financial planning software to generate financial plans and review with Financial Planner and/or Financial Advisor
  • Perform research on financial planning topics as needed

Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to support personal and business planning

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required (or in the process of completing)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Client Services & Operations

Operations Support Associate – Torrance, CA

The Operations Support Associate is responsible for providing account administration and operational support duties.

  • Provide internal back office support for the firm
  • Interface with the custodians on various administrative issues as needed
  • Communicate all alerts to the client service team via the CRM
  • Assist in the new account process being involved in form letters and documentation
  • Submit maintenance requests to custodians, including  following up and obtaining confirmations
  • Assist in the distribution of quarterly statements and other mailings including marketing materials for prospects
  • Perform general office support duties including copying, filing, mailing, system and file organization as necessary
  • Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to support the operations departmental objectives

Serve as back up to the reception, performing all the duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years experience in financial services or related field; Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent work experience
